I'm looking forward to making this trip next fall. I know it's early, but I'd rather just book everything now so that I don't have to worry about scrambling for flights, hotels, etc later on. My only concern is the possibility of this game being moved to Thursday, September 22nd for an ESPN kickoff. This game should have a lot of national appeal, so I'm assuming one of the major networks will pick it up for Saturday the 24th. It just seems that I remember watching a lot of Big East football on Thursday nights. LSU is already scheduled to play MSU on a Thursday night, so hopefully it will be a one time deal next season. Any thoughts?

I would be concerned as well. I will make the trip because I fly to Charleston all of the time and been invited to tour the campus and athletic facility before the game.
they played Marshall on a thursday noght before they played us. I seem to remember another Thursday night game they were involved in or maybe it was a Tuesday. However, since LSU is probably going to be a big game, it is less likely to be moved.
We will see.
I am going in on that thursday and just stay over at a Buddy's house in Fairmont for the game.

It'll be Saturday, WVU has a big time fanbase and they don't need to move games. Fly to Pittsburgh and stay there Morgantown has the same level of shitty servcis Oxford does

When Auburn played there in 2008, it was a Thursday night game, but the MSU game the year before was on Saturday. Someone on the SEC Rant might remember when the Auburn game was moved.

Since the LSU-MSU game is already slated for Thursday night, maybe the other Thursday games have been decided already.

Stro ... The majority of the WVU fanbase has to travel 2+ hours to get to their games as many of their fans live in the Charleston area. When they have a game on Thursday it cuts attendance by about 25% so I would doubt that they would move this game.

I just hope it's not at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning like a lot of their games are.

I spoke to a big WVU booster in Baton Rouge before the game in September. He told me it was 50/50 at that time.

That sucks b/c I will only be able to make it if its on Saturday, and I assume there are a lot of other Tiger fans who have the same issue.

The game will likely remain on Saturday. It's got way to much national appeal. So I'd count on a Saturday kick off.

There are many nice hotels, bed and breakfasts etc in and around Morgantown. In the fall Morgantown, WV is beautiful with the changing colors of the leaves.

Morgantown is a nice little sleepy college town. Friday nights are big party nights before games so come prepared. But then again your LSU... your like us. Always ready to party.

To stay in Morgantown there is a fairly new Fairfield Inn that is about 5 minutes from the stadium.
The game WILL NOT be moved to Thursday. Per a conversation I had with a high ranking WVU official (long time friend) over the holidays.

I don't think this has much to do with it. Having said that, I feel confident this game will be played on Saturday. Like someone else metnioned, I wouldn't make this trip if the game weren't played on Saturday. Thanks for the help guys/gals.

Plenty of hotel space. Much bigger than Oxford. I would recommend the Waterfront hotel raddison. Very nice!! Or Lakeview resort. Lots of choices but I'd get on it early.

Are Motorhomes allowed in the parking lots like at LSU and other venues?

I have a regional (North America) for a large chemical company. I go to a plant there and visit my contacts.
