if I understand correctly, we would be playing the loser of Nebraska and Oklahoma. I don't think there is anything to be gained by a rematch vs. Oklahoma. We beat them soundly in the NCG a few years ago and don't want to let them be able to even the score. After seeing the Arkansas game I think our defense would have trouble defending their passing game. As for Nebraska with their good running QB, it would be a disaster for our defense if history is any lesson. If A&M managed to squeak in, that might be the only manageable matchup. I think we would have a better chance against a big 10 team in the Cap1 or Outback. Supposed better exposure for us in the Cotton would be nullified if we get a butt-whipping from OK or NE.

This. I'd much rather kick the shite out of Sparty than get manhandled by Oklahoma or Nebraska.

This is a dumb thread. We would be in every game if not beat all of the teams.

Our defense would be rested by the cotton bowl. They were worn down and beat up at the end of the season. I think we match up well with Oklahoma or Mich St. I don't want to play against Taylor Martinez.

I for one wouldn't mind going back to the cap1 bowl now that turf has been laid down. That was a fun trip seeing as though it was right near disneyworld

The Cotton Bowl is not going to take the loser of Neb/OU because they don't want a team that lost the Big 12 Championship game in the same stadium they lost in 5 weeks earlier.

The loser of the Neb/OU game is going to the Alamo.

Okie Lite will not go to the Cotton because a) they were there last year and b) A&M would fill the place up. Okie Lite won't.

A&M to the Cotton is all but a done deal, or so we are being told on our premium boards.

According to many in Texas (including the Dallas News), Texas A&M to the Cotton is a done deal.

LSU-Texas A&M would be an unbelievable matchup to get excited for IMO, taking the setting into account (new Cowboys stadium, date/time)

WTF? We played them SEVEN years ago. This hardly qualifies as a rematch.

Why is it that LSU fans want to play in the best bowl games around, but don't actually want to play good teams? Yet we ridicule Boise State and TCU for playing pansies all year long...

So basically you're rational for suitable bowl opponent for LSU is a team that LSU could beat soundly? In that case, I would like to see LSU play Boston College in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. I think we'd have a good shot at beating them. I don't want to see LSU play any team in the top 20 because of a chance for a loss. Heaven forbid LSU plays a quality team (NU or Oklahoma) that could produce a good game, but may also win the game

I would love to go to THAT game. Hopefully the powers that be will pull it off.

Just commenting after looking at the year that we had...still think that our record is better than our team at this point. Really think that we should be around a 9-3 team and probably shouldn't be in the top 10 at this point. Not saying we couldn't have a good day and possibly beat a Nebraska or Oklahoma...just don't think its very likely. After last year, don't really want to go to the offseason with another bowl loss.
