I won't say that TCU is trash, but they play a trash schedule.

If they could beat the 2 teams that played in the SECCG the last 2 years, then I would say they have done enough to be in the championship.

Boise's bullshite speaks for itself. They're good, but sorry they haven't done enough to be in there.

Didn't realize Oregon's was so bad

I didn't either, that is a shitty schedule!

I do think their offense is awesome, but no wonder they hang 60 on everyone.

Yeah they are very fun to watch. It's the same appeal that Boise has. Both teams are so in control with the ball in their hands.

That Stanford win is the only thing Oregon has done, but that's definitely more than what TCU or Boise has done IMO

I agree. We will get a chance to stop that offense next year in Dallas. That will be fun to watch.

So:

Oregon played 2 winning teams out of 9
Auburn - 6 winning teams out of 10
Boise - 3 winning teams out of 8
TCU - 3 winning teams out of 10
LSU - 7 winning teams out of 9

Wow!

Just think, all/most of the Boise State talk would have stopped week one had Virginia Tech not shite the bed in the final minutes of the game.

What's changed?

Years ago teams with those schedules, undefeated or not, wouldn't even crack the top 10.

Do they really deserve to be above one loss LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, etc?

I just want to know what's different now.

They schedule a BCS team, and actually beat them. Also, the BCS has been tweaked to allow them in because they started to have some success against the "big boys." Add to that that the "little boys" have won in the BCS games that they have gone to.

Good God.

2 of Boise's 'winning' teams are Toledo and Hawaii.

The problem with college football is that all wins are considered equal.

You guys used a statistic that places Chatanooga (5-4) ahead of Ole Miss (4-5).

Stop using meaningless stastics like overall win/loss record. how about looking at those teams in w/l against BCS schools.

That'll make it even worse as it will kill someone like Utah's or Hawaii's record.

Boise has played 4 BCS schools since 2008. To get to the number of BCS opponents that a BCS team faces in a single year, you'd have to go back 5 years, during which Boise is 5-4 against BCS teams.

In "recent" history, their bowl history against BCS opponents has been a win against Iowa State, a loss to Louisville, a loss to Boston College, a win against Oklahoma. Their non-BCS bowl history is 2 wins against TCU, a loss against TCU, and a loss against ECU.

That makes them 2-2 in bowls against BCS opponents, and 2-2 in bowls against non-BCS opponents.

The only reason the Boise and TCU win percentage number is so bad is because they play in the strong conferences of the WAC and the MWC. And since these conferences are so strong from top the bottom all the teams in them just beat up on each other.

The leader of the Pac-10's resume normally appears kind of lean because of their true round-robin schedule. Not saying the Ducks are the best team in the nation, as LSU's defense would put a hurting on them, but it is was it is and 9 conference games creates 5 extra losses per year for that league.

Boise

That wasn't just regarding Boise State, it was in regards to all the non-BCS schools that make noise in the BCS talk. Utah was somewhat in the talks up until last week. They have won nine straight bowl games, five of which were against schools from BCS conferences.

I'm not one that thinks they deserve a shot at the national title because they aren't tested in conference, but in my opinion the things that I have pointed out are the things that have changed over in recent history that allows them to be in the talks every year.
