new sauce piquant ideas? (edited)

just looking for new ingredient suggestions, thanx in advance

i usually use:

various peppers (seedless then use seeds for heat to taste)
stewed tommatoes (cajun and regular style)
shrooms
cream of _______
other standard ingredients

Chop some green olives and mix in...show some love to the Spanish input in the lineage of the dish.

Meat comes to mind


IMO a combo of Turtle and Venison make the absolute best Sauce Picante

My neighbor growing up was from Bunkie and they pronounced picante as picardi sauce.

rabbit, squrrel, gator, turtle, whatever really tasty piece of animal flesh I can find. I would never put shrooms or cream of anything in a SP.

also try using a good brand of crushed tomato...Cento is good. I like tthis much better than plain tomato sauce in any red sauce.
