Recommendations for Taking Mom out to Dinner

So I'm flying home sans wife and daughter for the Bama game in Nov. I'm flying in on Friday and want to take my mom out to a nice dinner. Looking at the helpful Geaux Dining Guide, I'm thinking maybe Jubans or Maison Lacour. The problem is that I've lived up here for quite a while and need some insider tips.
I want to do something nice, but my mom is not necessarily a "fine dining" person. Any help would be appreciated.

What sort of foods does she like to eat?
Would Mansur's be more in line with what you'd want? LINK /
Nothing too fancy. She loves shrimp, however, and could branch out on some shrimp dishes.
Thanks. I'll look into Mansur's.

If you like the food at Mansur's but want a more casual and less crowded environment, try French Market Bistro (Mansur's sister restaurant with the same Brie and Crabmeat soup). There is a topic here on it.

Roberto's River Road might fit the bill. I haven't been there, but folks here have given it kudos. It's not fancy, but fun because it's a wee bit of a road trip to Sunshine. It's probably not somewhere she's been or would go to, frequently, if she has been there. Might be crowded the night before a game, so you may have to go early. I'm not sure it takes reservations. Hopefully, some other folks will come along and comment on it.

Roberto's would be a good choice, casual (nice shorts is not out of place) with good seafood dishes. It is located in an old General Store on the Mississippi River. It is a few miles from the East Baton Rouge/ Ascension line.

You were talking about missing the seafood down here in another thread I think. Perhaps a trip to Louisiana Lagniappe would be in order.

There are some very good places mentioned. Roberto's is solid as is LL. My personal favorite, and this is just my opinion, is Juban's. I really enjoy their food and the atmosphere. JMO
You can't go wrong with any of these places mentioned really.

Iberville line. One red light down Nicholson past the University Club, take right , River road take right, it is on the right of the road. I and Berto worked together many yeara ago, he is crazy bad-assed in a kitchen.

Louisiana Lagniappe (would be my choice), Roberto's River Road Restaurant or Mansurs.
