I would like to hear more on the two deaths.
The linked article did not elaborate on the two deaths nor did it say the top blew off.
It said it was removed because a ROV hit one of the vents.

People died and there is not much info about the deaths??

Sounds like it may be worse now than before. Damn I hate to hear that.

Capping the Wells industry has proven not to be safe. Look for the POTUS to issue a moratorium banning the capping of wells.

I found an article on AL.com that stated a boat captain had been shot. But that would only account for one death and I would think that would not be attributed to the response effort. Anyone got any info on these deaths?

It said they weren't related to the containment effort. Said one was a boat captain that had been shot. Pretty dumb to include that in the title of the article.

We have been briefed on the voo capt death, not at all oil or operations related but a huge tragedy

Hello 100K bpd
I realize personal glee at the boosted political fallout of such a thing made you overlook actually reading the reports you are talking about, but that number is only valid (and it is still only a worst possible even then) if they would cut off the BOP without first containing the spill. At worst, if the cap really did fly off, we are talking about 60k

The other involved a swimming pool accident.

No glee here. It's a big fricking mess.
I'll take your word for the 60K number.

Can the OP title be editted now that it is confirmed that the top did NOT blow off.....the current title is as alarmist as the headline of two workers dying in the "response effort" ie. their swimming pool...

One was a charter boat captain in the VOOP. Looks like a suicide.
