VENICE, La. – Just when it seemed Gulf residents couldn't get any more outraged about the massive oil spill fouling their coastline, word came Saturday that BP's CEO was taking time off to attend a glitzy yacht race in England.

Tony Hayward's latest public relations gaffe didn't sit well with people in the U.S. who have seen their livelihoods ruined by the massive two-month oil spill.

He should have just played a round of golf instead.

And wasn't he relieved of his duties in the day to day response anyways?

Hayward was relieved of his duties of leading the effort to stop the leak and clean up. He is no longer involved and good riddance. Hopefully can get someone in here to actually do some good.

That is like being pissed at the President for plying golf while we have two wars going on. What the frick is he personally going to do to aid in the clean up?

TD posters, grasping at the flimsiest things about which to feign outrage.

They're not the only ones.
But seriously, even though he can't "fix" it by himself, for a company trying to maintain or repair its public image, taking his yacht out isn't exactly well-advised.

No and neither is throwing parties in the white house either. It's very hypocritical for the WH to take shots like this

The fricker got kicked to the curb...what should he do? Don some sackcloth and walk the streets shouting "Unclean!"?

Gulf residents need to get a fricking grip.
