Leaving out for Omaha tomorrow for the first time, and I was hoping you veterans could fill me in on things.
What are some things that shouldn't be missed, best places to eat and so forth. TIA.

Go to Barret's Barleycorn, the LSU bar. Zesto's is a great hamburger and ice cream place right next to the stadium. Have to hit that up. Its kind of like a Dairy Queen.

Oh and hit up the zoo next door to the stadium.

we rode out to lincoln [50mins] and did a walk around the U fo Neb staduim. pretty awesome museum with the heisman room, and you can enter the staduim. they are very passionate about college football. Omaha is very large, spread out city and different from south la.

I went there every night I was in Omaha last year

The zoo is fun too and it's right next to the stadium.

ETA: Check out Upstream Brewery in downtown. They brew their own beer & the food is pretty good.

We did the same thing too on the Saturday before the championship series. Would love to have the Tigers go play a road game up there.

Has anybody eaten at California Taco in Omaha? I saw it on Diners, Drive-in and Dives and it looked good.
How tough is it to get into games the first weekend?

go to the hamburger joint with the big gorilla on the roof. It is on the corner right across Rosenblatt. Went there three times when I was in Omaha last year.

We were with our kids so we drove WEST but can't remember where to but it was an Air Force museum I think? And then there was a drive through safari and on the way back we stopped at Bass Pro Shop. Killed the time during the day until game #3!

Hit up famous daves BBQ across the street from the stadium. the turned an old church into a BBQ joint. Great place to drink a beer and get out of the heat

Also along the same road across the street from stadium, there's a memorabilia shop. They sell mostly baseball cards, but I bought a ticket stub from the Warren Morris game, lotta cool shite to look @, and they give out free beer!!
