You need something with crawfish. Will you cook there at all? Cold or hot crawfish dip? Crawfish pies?

Not food, but local seasonings usually go well in care packages. You can use it for anything that is cooked while there, plus it lasts a while. My favorites are Tony's and Bon Caca.

he is actually having tony's seafood send in crawfish and shrimp and all the sides.

i was thinking snack food like things. granted, boudin and cheese bread from bourques is a meal fit for a king to me.

+1 on Zapps, Abita, Coffee-Community or River Roads, Steen's...oh, they sell mini frozen crawfish and meat pies-that would be good for the guests to try...

Take some hurricane mix. Do them virgin for the kids and happy for the adults. "Furriners" love the hurricane. My Atlanta friends request them every year for their crawfish party.

Oh, and take some Saints super bowl stuff to rub it in a little!

I know some of these are not in season and you don't have time to get all of these but some other ideas from LA include:

Satsumas from Simon Citrus farm in Kaplan

CajunPower Garlic sauce from Abbeville

Tamales from Zwolle or Ivy's Pride tamales from St. Amant

Natchitoches meat pies from Lasyones

Ruston peaches from Mitcham Farms

Stuffed chicken or other fowl from Hebert's Market in Maurice

Steen's cane syrup vinegar from Abbeville

Cracklins from Bourques/Port Barre or Billy's in Opelousas

Mayhaw jelly from Pleasant Acres in Pineville

Cheese from Bittersweet Plantation Dairy in Gonzales(I think)

Cousins Creole Tomato Salad Dressing from Covington

Leidenheimer French Bread from New Orleans

Just some random thoughts/ideas.

Enjoy Hotlanta!
