Restaurants in Lafayette

The BF is moving in two weeks to Lafayette and we don't really know of decent restaurants in the area.
We're not picky and will at least try anything. I'm trying to stay away from chain type places.
So TIA for recommendations!

Try the Italian Food Market on Johnston. Very good, very small restaurant. The chef owns the restaurant and sometimes takes orders and serves. They run out of the chicken catchatori every night. Best tomatoe sauce in town.

I have more ideas. What do you like to eat?

One more good one you would like.
Nash's in Broussard
Best Osso Bucco. Good seafood, and steaks. Located 10 minutes from Lafayette.

I'm not a fan of Marsala's, but then maybe I've never had good Indian food. I like the curry dishes at Pimon Thai on Johnston. The Pad Thai and coconut soup is very good. There is also a good Thai buffet on Kaliste Saloom, Thai Cuisine.

If y'all are new to town, you need to go to Lafonda's. It's mexican and most say it's overrated, and it probably is.
Margaritas are killer.
Welcome to Lafayette.

I lived in Lafayette for a year but that was 5 years ago.
He's been working there for a while but permanently moving soon. Someone he worked with recommended marsala's so that's why he wants to try it.
Mexican is probably my favorite.. I've heard of Lafonda's but it's always been mixed reviews so I'll definitely try that!
Thanks!

Go to drink and socialize. If you eat, they prolly got some of the best fried chicken in town

Coyote Blue is better in Lafayette.
Phares' is probably the best restaurant in the city, but is kind of still an unknown. Get the charbroiled oysters.
If you want seafood, drive to abbeville (shucks, blacks, dupuys)
Don's is a good place for an old fashioned or any hand made drink.

I still like Tsunami, but I know it gets hate here
Filling Station on Jefferson is my favorite outdoor spot.
Dwight's on Johnston
Bonnie Bell's Bistro
T-coons for gut busting plate lunches
Eat Lafayette
Acadiana Eats
Chicken should add Lafayette to the dining guide before BR, we all know there's nowhere to eat there anyway.

Phares' is OK BUT OVERPRICED the best restaurant in the city, but is kind of still an unknown. DON'T Get the charbroiled oysters (WAY TOO SALTY).
If you want seafood, drive to abbeville (shucks, blacks, dupuys) (CORRECT)

Black's seems like it's under new ownership every time I go and it's been living off reputation for the last 10 years. Phares' is owned by the same people as Shuck's I believe.
