I love it! Goodbye Rafa. It was nice to see them self destruct near the end. Stupid challenges by Gerrard and Torres near the end. Sad part was Wigan had a couple more chances at the end that they didn't finish. Bring it on spurs.

They were sloppy all day, not just at the end. They played several poor balls and repeatedly gave the ball back to Wigan in their defensive third. Must have been one hell of a party last night.

totally worth your season

in all seriousness, can we finally agree that rafa is out. What are their next moves? They're strapped and there was already talk of selling torres. What now if they don't get any champions league money?

Mascherano will be at Barca next year which doesn't bode well for a team who's already lost 9 this season. I'd sell Gerrard before Torres though. He may have had a bad day, but you need a guy that can finish like Torres.

just don't think there's as much of a market for gerrard as torres. If you need money that badly, you sell torres when he's at maximum value.

I'd sell Torres and Gerrard and try to stack up on young talent while paying off some of these debts. Torres will get you a ton of money, and Gerrard's market value is only going to get worse and worse, as will his quality of play.

Merseyside is a great place to start...can you say "Jack Rodwell?"

Also, Yoann Gourcoff is better than Gerrard right now, anyway. Buy him. Actually, don't, because he's my favorite player, and I quite frankly don't like Liverpool

I like Gerrard, but you are right they need to deal him soon or they can forget about any real value for him.

FINAL

I saw most of the first half, including Wigan's lone goal.

What it looked like to me was similar to a school like Alabama or LSU taking a lesser school (like Vandy or Kentucky) too lightly--just going through the motions. This is the same Wigan team that lost 9-1 earlier this year, so I guess Liverpool thought they would win by default. Very sloppy play by the 'Pudlians. Wigan reminded the red team that they were, in fact, members of Barclays.

I think 2 of the 3 are likely, given the current direction of the club. Or they might be able to sell Torres for 100M and save themselves.

That would leave Real Madrid with another 140M to land Ribeiry.
