Had to take a break from mw so was looking through achievements tab and noticed last time I played this was 12/08. Forgot how awesome it was. Only bad thing is I spread my skillpoints around I was levelling (level 9 ATM) so trying to decide whether or not to start over. I probably have a solid 40 hours or so in it but mainly exploring and random encounters. Think I have only completed around 10 quests or so. Anyone else ever get into it? I have a few of the DLCs so cap is now level 30. So starting over may not be that bad but then I think about how much time is already invested...

I think this is the best game of this generation so far. As of right now, I've put a little over 100 hours into it, I'm at level 29 and I have about 4 or 5 skills (maybe more) maxed out at 100. I just beat the game with the broken steel add on. I have tons of weapons, right now I'm working on creating custom weapons and I still have a bunch of optional missions to go through.
There is so much to do in this game it's not funny. It takes a while, but the game doesn't really begin to get going until ammo and money become less of an issue.

I got about halfway through the story after many saves and restarts for different story lines.
The thing is..It feels Very oblivion like to me.(and rightly so I would imagine) However, the reason why I just stopped playing was because
1) I felt really alone really quick..
2) The color palette for the game is drab..and I know it has to be.
BUT..those two things literally made me depressed if I played the game for too long of a session.
I liked oblivion better than Fallout because it was a better palatte.
Also, really liking DA:0 for the same reasons, plus having a party adds another layer of stragety and even though its NPC's I dont feel alone. The character commentary is second to none imho

the char commentary on DA:O is indeed fun.
interesting mix of people. i prefer Dog over Allistair though.
Morrigan and leilana in the same party =

Fallout 3 is a great game but has nowhere the amount of things to do in it as Oblivion. Both don't have as much to do as Morrowind either.

i was really motivated to do every quest in fallout3, and reroll a char, but then suddenly all my interest vanished and i never put it on again.
it captivated the hell out of me for about a month or so. however i played it for the first time back in nov, not when it was new. And yeah, the color scheme and emptyness of washington d.c. makes things borings at times.
very intense in other moments though. super mutants in the mall

The color scheme and emptiness is the whole point of the game. I liked going from town to town and talking to different people, some ended up being your friends, some didn't. I thought the enemey design and the battle system were great. Super mutants, fire breathing ants, talking robots, ghouls, giant scorpions, heads rolling off bodies, and nuclear explosions

It also had some of the funniest characters... It's been a while since I've played but the republic of dave and the fight between two self proclaimed super heroes were great little sidequest

yeah, the emptiness and expansiveness of it made finding every little town and sidequest great.
i do remember a feeling of claustrophobia being stuck way down in one of the last vaults looking for the ... shite cant remember the name... the thing the nice super mutant helps you get which is pivitol to the whole story.
EDEN was it called?

I hated the Fire Ant quest.... wasn't leveled up yet and I had to run and gun the whole way... plus it kinda creeped me out.
Does anyone know what the comic factory was all about? I found it and searched the whole thing but didn't really get a quest accomplishment.

There are tons of optional areas in every Bethesda game...the comic factory doesn't play a crucial role in the plot, however if you are doing the superhero quest you can figure out the identity of the Antagonizer from a computer in there

it matters what dog. if it is dogmeat then he is back at the garbage dump.
