I like Laphroaig.

I'm not a huge scotch drinkier, however, a lot of folks will say it's not a good "entry level" scotch because it's fairly unique.

Scotch is an acquired taste for sure.

If you drink the ABC store brand you will never like it. You must spend a few bucks on Scotch or it's better just to stick with Jack.

Same reason the Brits spell honor "honour" and color "colour".

every 10 years there's a 6-8 month Scotch movement by a new crop of 20-somethings thinking it makes them sophisticated.

I am an alcoholic, and I wouldn't drink scotch if it were free.

Take your Cigars someplace else as well.

I've tried the Balvanie, and it's great. I haven't gotten a bottle of Choice A first. That's next on my list.

B for sure.

A is a VERY HEAVY PEATED scotch. I find it takes quite some time to acquire the taste for a scotch with a very heavy peated taste.

As someone said above, it's a very unique taste.

I will also add that 12 yr old scotch is not nearly as smooth as 18 yr old and older. If all you have ever tried is 12 yr old scotch, then you really haven't tried scotch IMO.
