This is really depressing. With the draw we have we really had potential to do some good things, but if half our starters are out it won't be good.

You can tell which ligament is hurt pretty quickly, it's just severity we should worry about.

I barely follow soccer, but I know who this guy is....meaning if he tore his knee up that is NOT good for the USA

FWIW, I tore my MCL this football season, and I was back within 6 weeks. It was just a partial tear, though. I don't know how long it'd be if it was a full tear. And if it's the ACL, obviously, he's not going to be ready (even if he could be ready to play by the WC, he'd be way too out of shape).

"The initial prognosis for Clint is not good," said Fulham boss Roy Hodgson.

"It looks he has suffered cruciate knee ligament damage which if he has keeps him out of action for a while."

Dempsey has been a key player for Fulham this season playing 25 times and scoring seven goals and before he was injured he hit the crossbar with a spectacular overhead kick.

"We won't know for certain until the scan is completed on Monday but the doctors are pretty good these days and often their initial prognosis proves to be the correct one," added Hodgson.

there is still room for optimism, guyz. nothing is certain in terms of injury extent.

trainers see those injuries all the time, they're usually accurate with their assessments. hopefully they aren't.

...but wtf

god hates amurka right now.

Davies has sparkling form in South Africa, bags a couple of goals in Ligue 1 and then has a devastating injury.

Gooch, in form with Standard Liege, gets snapped up by AC Milan, goes down in a subtle movement sidelining him for several months.

Dempsey has been a rock for Fulham this season and now may be the latest in our string of shitty luck.

Be careful that you're not too impressive, Landon.
