and take homefield throughout...Do we rest the starters in the Carolina game being that we're not going for the perfect season?

Rest Drew

Spend the game trying to figure out how to stop Peppers from killing Bushrod

Drew and any with lingering injuries but some starters play most if not all the game

Can't play Drew after what Ellis did last week. Alternate Bushrod and Streif on Peppers and see who you want starting in the playoffs.

So who plays QB? I don't see a number 3 on the roster

You start Drew, just to maintain routine. After about a quarter or so, Brunell takes over.

We should have been resting our players since end of October.

True. We need a few more losses to guarantee a Super Bowl win.

I would treat the game the same as they do pre-season games. Play the starters for maybe two series, then yank everyone. The most important thing at this point is rest.

I honestly think the team looks tired. It's a long season, we have had the pressure of going undefeated which means taking everyone's A game, the lingering injuries....

Getting a win against Tampa is the most important. After that, it's rest, more rest, and some more rest. I don't care if Caroline beats our second stringers by 50.

Our starters should be on the bench watching our 2nd string players lose the game so they can get re-focused.

i'd rest anyone that is nicked up but play the rest. We don't need two weeks of down time for all the starters. Trust me, they want to play. Keeps the momentum. Carolina is playing tough. we need to roll these next two games. 15-1 would be awesome!!!

If I were the coach (and I know im not!) I would sit ALL the starters at the half of the Tampa game when its out of their reach and they dont see the field again until the playoffs. To hell with getting any more starters hurt!

This is stupid and presumptive. The starters are going to play the Tampa game all the way through the 4th at least. If it's a blowout in the 4th than you may begin to see some starters come out, and that's the only way it should be in that game. That's a must win game.

this is always a double edged sword...

starters need rest, but

don't want to lose momentum.

I say play em. Rest is what the 1st round bye is for.

I heard someone on the radio say, if I were Payton, I'd not tell anyone there going to sit. Have them go into the last game with that competitive mind set. THEN start pulling starters after a few series.
