What would you realistically expect LSU's record to be next year if we bring in a new OC and start a freshman QB?

Edit: INTERESTING. Response required nothing more then 2 numbers, possibly seperated by a dash. Though, some eventually listed a record some responses didn't even do that.

Why would we start a fresh QB? If you're referrign to Garrett, why would we start him?

Anyways, to answer your hypo, I would expect 3-4 losses.

So we are benching JJ and playing Chris Garrett? Wow, "IF" that happens then it will be 2008 Redux.

If we start a freshman QB, unless it's a recruit I'm unaware we've gotten, we lose more games than this year.

Jefferson is just a sophmore... big jumps are made between a first year of starting and a second... the bowl game and arkansas from last year do not really count as a season of starts.

i expect huge strides, its partly why i want to see crowton stay. if he has a qb with experience (like flynn) we do wonderful.

look at it this way

our offense sucked this year WITH ciron black, lyle hitt, charles scott, keiland williams, richard dickson, and brandon lafell

we dont have any of those guys next year, assuming an improvement next year is a stretch imo

i disagree, i think every position on the oline will be stronger for us next year. I definitely like the fact that we add size

I agree on O-line. Backs need a lane and rec need time for play development. A real fullback will also help, if they play him. I think Ridley did a great job in CS and KW's absense. Murphy's no slouch and Ford will be our new Scott.

Ford is not Scott, he is better than or will be better than "IF" he gets the right coaching and is left on the field long enough to show what he can do. As soon as he gets a good run (Crowton) will pull him and then we start all over again.

Convenient.

Good luck with that.

We did indeed. Too bad we won't have a QB like Flynn next year. As for experience, Jordan Jefferson already has more experience than Flynn had in his entire career, and went into this season with as many starts as Flynn had going into 2007.

What would you realistically expect LSU's record to be next year if we bring in a new OC and start a freshman QB?

A lot would depend on who the new OC was. Assuming he was a good one, I would expect a better record than I'm expecting now (7-5 or 6-6). A lot would also depend on how good the freshman QB was. If he has any intelligence at all, then again I would expect a better record than I'm expecting now.

So, if the new OC were good and the freshman QB were not a complete embecile, I'd probably adjust my current expectation of 7-5 or 6-6 up to about 9-3 or 8-4. If the OC sucked and the QB were an embecile, then of course we'd have what we have now, so I'd stick with my current expectation.

An 18 year old with 2 starts and a fifth year senior with 2 starts are not the same thing.
