A while back a rant discussed how hard it is for an underclassman QB to win in the SEC, even with talent around him. If we hadn't kicked RP of the team he would have been a senior this year. How different would things have been? Ideally you want a QB to learn for a few years before starting his junior and senior years. I agree RP had to go for the overall good of the program, but I believe we are still paying the price for making the "right & moral" choice. Just a thought.

of course, and this is something that, based on good number of daily posts, the fans, particularly this year, have overlooked.

Most everyone knew the last two seasons would be like they were -- you know, around 3 loses.

Next year looks good for the Tigers and the following year, even better.

QB is such a key position, and one that has been a recurring problem at LSU (i.e. maintaining a field general year to year). I recall the U of Miami during the Dennis Erikson era; Miami always seemed to have a great QB and back-up QB, and I have no doubt this was a key ingredient to their success.

AGAINST WHO??? LOOK I wish the guy the best of luck, BUT He wasn't a BIG TIME PLAYER, OR he wouldn't have gotten kicked OFF the team.

Les had to let him go. He would have let Peterson go after all of that shite peej. You lose institutional control over a team if you don't.

Actually, one could also argue that we were left with only Andrew Hatch and Jared Lee as backup quarterbacks.
Had we actually signed anyone in the intervening years after RP we might have had a more suitable alternative to fill RP's shoes. After all, what if RP had been injured?
RP is just an excuse. It didn't effect the crappy D in 08 and it wouldn't have changed Crowton's pitiful play selection and lack of a scheme.

Ryan Perrilloux had the potential to be an all-american qb. I'm not saying he is better than Peterson but he could have been great at lsu.

An especially retarded Rantard made a post entitled the Perriloux Effect some time back. It referred to the after effects that accelerating the time table for the development of JJ and as it turns out RS. It also likely had deleterious effects on the receivers, RBs and, of course, the defense which has suffered from too many SPG syndrome...

Look guys. My brother in law is pretty high up in the BRPD. There are things perrilloux did that no one knows about. Stuff that was sweped under the rug. Pretty BAD shite.

NO WAY should he have been able to stay on the team. NO WAY
