i thought it was good, but not the best portrayl of a character ever.
I mean the director/producers/screenwriters all had a hand in the vision that is the joker.
He did very good, but it wasn't all him.

No. Mark Hamill's The Joker from Batman The Animated Series. I like Jack Nicholson's Joker better too.

The thing that sucks is that the character was set up to return in a sequel. I'd have liked to see him return to that role. I'm sure he had plenty of other good performances in him as well. Always sucks to see somebody get cut down in their prime.

! Heath's Joker laughs at all Jokers before him. Are you serious? His character was one of the top 5 cinematic characters of all-time!

Not even the best joker, so definitely not the best character ever.

Joking. Damn that looks like Albert Finney a bit in that pic.

Ive read Ledger based his joker off of the character Brandon Lee played in The Crow. Dont know how true that is, but the characteristics and body movements of the two are eerily similar. The only major difference is the voice Ledger uses for the Joker (Brandon Lee didnt change his voice for the charatcer). Even the makeup style is similar...

Since the guy who started this thread doesn't even want to follow up on it...anybody know which one he's talking about? He can't seriously mean the best character in movie history.

Heath Ledger playing The Joker is one of the top 5 cinematic characters in all of movie history? Really? In all of movie history? Unreal.

Edited to add... if he hand't died, his acting in this movie would never even be discussed.

i hate when people say this. such bs.
everytime i watch this movie im thinking "god ledger does a bad arse joker". not "heath ledger is dead. that maked it so much better".

dude KILLED in that movie. not a top 5 cinematic performance like many on here say. but it was definitely the best joker. and probably the best batman villian ever.

You think he would have been nominated for an award if he hadn't suddenly died?
