This is just a general question and something I was thinking about.

I think our teams played about even Saturday. I think our QB has more experience in the system of SEC football that JJ because he is a redshirt junior but I think JJ is actually a better QB. JJ is just a soph. so he will be solid as a rock next year and has looked pretty damn good this year at times. After Saturday's game he is no longer a rookie in the SEC but a seasoned QB.

All that being said, y'all have only lost two games. Y'all lossed to the number 1 and 2 teams by a very close margin and had a chance to win both games if a few things had gone the other way.

If I am an LSU fan I have to be excited about next year. What are y'alls thoughts on this? I don't know who all you lose but am I way off base on this?

LSU is going to be solid the next few years. Lucky we have them at home next year!

As long as LSU has to play Florida, Alabama and Auburn every year, one or two losses will always be a possibility.

And it could keep LSU out of the national championship game.

Good coaching wins close games. Granted, there were some things out of our control last Saturday with injuries but that was the second.

How many close ones has Saban or Meyer lost this year?

Scoop, LSU will reload but we'll have holes to fill like everyone else.

DT and LB may be our biggest voids to fill. Very capable guys in reserve to fill in but unproven.

I'm excited for every new season, especially next year... doesn't mean I can't be a little pissed off about this one.

Scoop, we lose some key players from this years team and it will be felt next year. I was looking forward to this year feeling next year would be a little down. I actually expect that LSU will be around the 7-5 season next year.

been saying 2010 would be the year.
Experience at QB, lots of weapons on offense, returning the best secondary in the country

My thought is that you have more sense than most posters here..

I have to agree, although JJ is a decent QB I would have thought we could have recruit better in this area. Because of his accuracy I do not see JJ becoming a great QB.

We have a good returning base and s0ome great RS's returning..

Florida will defintaly have a drop off losing Tebow and most of the D.

Bama is pretty young and will be a force as well.

Here's to some great games in the near future.

Wasn't that McElroys best game of the season? He had absolutely no pressure on him to throw. LSU brought the house but never seriously challenged him until the safety.

I thought Bama was the better team. I'm amazed at how fast NIck turned that program around.

LSU will hopefully continue to be LSU. Owner of 2 Crystals while Bama has none. I hope this loss and the one to Florida didn't make recruiting more difficult for us.

Sheesh, no. He sailed many a ball over open receivers' heads. Ingram bailed him out...oh, he does hand the ball off extraordinarily well.

Legit question scoop. Nice to hear from a Gump who I like.

I think LSU will be better next year than we were this year. Florida will be down quite a bit and Bama will be good once again. The rest of the schedule is certainly challenging as well.

Bama and Florida will have to play Tennessee who might be much better. This could really help out LSU.

2010 could be a good year for LSU.

they've both lost several close games in the past, both to Miles as well. In both coaches biggest challenges this year, they had the refs in their corner (Arkansas and LSU)

Saban is still a good coach despite the loss to UAB in 2000, losses to UT and Ole Miss in 2001, Arkansas the next year, Iowa and Auburn the next year.

You win some, you lose some. All the great coaches do

The loss Saban has to Miles was a year there was much house-cleaning and a run-down Bama program. Even still, we're WAY more talented as a team but that disparity was not evident.

LSU will be loaded, maybe we somehow get to be the officials "darlings" next year, if not we will suffer in this "league of fools"......

we are not WAY more talented. That is a stupid statement. Bama plays in the SEC and has had top recruiting classes for 3 years now. The loss Saban had to Miles had similar circumstances to the game last week, and Saban's team couldn't hang on.

Urban Meyer has lost several close games at UF, many to inferior teams.

Why do so many LSU fans think that LSU is so much more talented than other elite teams? Bama has talent everywhere

Bama was 1 year removed from a top 10 finish the year Saban got there, many people seem to forget that

LSU has the chance to maybe lose one game next year if they can win either at Auburn or Florida.
