Smoked Sausage and Andouille

Being from the Cajun Heartland I've been skeptical of trying smoked sausage from anywhere East of the Atchafalaya Basin. I was happy to find that Bergeron's in Port Allen has great smoked pork sausage for your gumbos and the andouille is some of the best I've had, anywhere. So I'm givin it up today, to Bergeron's

and Jacob's (in Reserve) has amazing andouille....i will dare say better than any i have had in the state. Now it is really smokey, so don't go overboard with it.

Gonna have to check that out.
Probably the worst thing about moving across the Basin to B.R. is the lack of good sausage.

Give Benoit's in Addis a try. It's not that much farther of a drive from BR.

Yeah Manda's sucks big time.... try being from Acadiana and living on the gulfcoast....
I have been living off of Rouse's which isnt that bad.... i do a little savioe's from time to time too..... I prefer richard's if I go the mass production type.....

for those who live outside of la , you can find savoies at any publix grocery store....also there is a brand out of alabama called conecuh which is excellent for a mass produces sausage..

Creole Country in New Orleans. Truly the best sausage I've ever eaten, hands down. If you ever get a chance, try the chaurice - shockingly good!
