Heading towards Canton, Tx

Will be leaving out tomorrow from BR to Canton, Tx. Taking I-49 towards Shreve then I-20 across.
Are there any good places that are a must stop on the way?
I'm not talking about fancy rest.
More like Dives, Diners, and Drive Inns.

You can get a pretty decent hamburger in Jefferson, Tx at The Hamburger Store. It's like 15-20 minutes north off of 20.
Auntie Skinners is a good place for a beer and a burger, decent fried catfish.
There is also a place in Jefferson that serves cornbread sandwiches and all things cornbread. Called the Kornbread Kitchen or some nonsense.

I used to always stop at Bodacious BBQ along I-20 in East Texas (somewhere near Longview). Good stuff!

at the canton exit the is a place behing the shell that an ice cream bar. its great. good burgers but the shakes are money. i must ate there a 100 times as a kid. we had a lake lot on lake fork. just norht of canton

Log cabin gone, replaced with big arse building but still at the same exit.
