Game day traditions

Hey, I'm working on something for The Reveille and I'm looking for sources who know a lot about football history in reference to dress.
If someone has studied the traditions of students' game day rituals (the history and transformation of the pajama game, the gold game, required dress for ROTC cadets) or if you know of a source who this is their area of expertise, contact me.

Typical Reveille...absolutely clueless in terms of where to start or how to research something on the history of their own campus.
No wonder they stick to speculation and misquotations.
Get a fricking L book and learn.

Go to Library. Get old copies of Gumbo. Read. Look at pictures. Take notes. Think. Do your own research. Act like a journalis......

Actually, we do know we to start on these things, and rest assured plenty of sources have already been contacted and interviewed. However, turning to Tiger Droppings often proves to be a valuable resource because of the very specific information people here know -- or even the rumors or word of mouth that is passed around.
And, just fyi, I actually have a L book (though it's last year's) in my desk drawer and clearly look at it often.

And nycajun, we've looked in all those places too.
Like I said, we're just looking here to see if there is another random source someone else knows of that maybe we missed.

Fair points, Golfer. I know I won't change your thoughts on this topic, nor am I interested in arguing online.
However, try to understand that a human source is always better than a book source, and I certainly don't see the harm in asking around. Any good journalist always ask sources for more sources.
I know much -- but not everything we're looking for -- is in the L book. We start a large number of stories by looking there and in old gumbos, reveilles, etc.
Not sure why this is so obscene in your mind, but as editor of the paper, I first appreciate your interest in our publication, and secondly welcome all feedback, even when negative.
I have an open office, and anyone is welcome to stop by and let me know what they think of the paper or to address any issues they may have. I'm in B-16 Hodges. Just ask for Nick.
For now, we'll keep working on this story by using the avenues you've suggested (even though we already did checked them) as well as other ideas thrown out here.

It wasn't just pledges when I was there. We all dressed generally in blue blazers, ties, and khakis.

pajama game is about ghey as it gets. tailgating, we do different things. 1st and last home games we drink crown, and when we play Louisiana schools, we drink Abita beer to keep the money in the state

Glad to know things have changed. That wasn't the case a few years ago.
My apologies if I seem bitter. In the number of interviews I did, only one of the at least 15 I did was I quoted correctly and the information relayed by the reported factual.
And that one article was done by a summer reporter, who was let go to begin when the daily articles started again in the fall.
JMO that a journalist shouldn't have to use another media outlet to get information.

Perhaps. But it brings down the integrity level of the paper when they are relying on this site for additional information.
