Cannon and Casanova's jerseys are retired in football.

I'd retire Dorsey's too.

Any others?

There's about 10 guys that deserve it more than Dorsey. Off the top of my head, I'd say Kevin Faulk, Alan Faneca, Bert Jones, Tommy Hodson, Charles Alexander, and Josh Reed.

Dorsey's should be not only because he was absolute beast but because he came back for his senior year AND was an incredible leader on the team. He also won the award for the best D-linemen in the country...can't remember what it's called sry.

I would retire Stephen's more than Dorsey's, guess its for personal reasons. But I do not like the idea of retiring numbers or jerseys. Maybe retire the Dorsey and Peterman Jersey but not the number.

Dorsey was the most decorated DT in college history. I'm not saying I am for or against retiring jersey's, but if you're going to list LSU player canidates, there is no way he is not near or at the top of that list.

I think they are about equal. Faulk may have meant more to LSU football than any other single player, but Dorsey is perhaps the most decorated LSU player when you take into account position. (And that no DT is going to win the Heisman. The fact that he was running strongly for NY invite consideration as a DT was incredible.)

I think he only missed out on one big award outside the Heisman and the other player of the year awards that a DT is not eligible to win or where it is almost impossible . He lost out a defensive player of the year award to Dan Connor and it was bs. Connor didn't even win the award for the best LB that year. I mean it is different people voting; however, it was not a unanimous decision who the top LB was and people had been talking about Dorsey all year.

Are they retiring numbers or just jerseys? Retiring jerseys is really just symbolic.
