Gibson's Steakhouse is fantastic. It's got a great bar and really good food. The portions are very large. It is a steakhouse, though, so it's not cheap.

On a side note, my dad and I went three years ago and people kept telling us that we would see a celeb there and sure enough the St. Louis Cardinals pitching staff was seated next to us.

Charlie Trotter's if you have a trust fund. It was $100 a head when I went there for the '98 Notre Dame game.

Chicago is an awesome food town. I would definitely say second best in the country behind New York.

I have eaten at a a lot of nice steakhouses around the country, but the bone in ribeye at Rosebuds steakhouse was the best steak I have ever put in my mouth.

IMO very overrated. Went about four years ago and had the nine course tasting menu. Left very dissapointed. Spent 190.00 per head and left underwhelmed by the food and portion sizes.

I have heard that David Burke(Chef of Grammercy Tavern in NYC) has a an unbelievable steakhouse in Chi-Town called Burke's Prime that is now considered the best steakhouse in the country. That is where I would try first. It will obviously be a pretty penny, but they dry age their prime steaks in a room whose walls are made of Tibetan salt. As they age they are also seasoned.

When I went to Chicago the best place I went to was Rick Bayless's place Frontera Grill. Arguably the best and most authentic Mexican restuarant in the US.

Went to Chicago in 94 and ate at Gino's East. Great pizza. 1 hour later we were all stinking out a bathroom at some art school down the road. It was worth it.
