I have one of those tennis racket bug zappers and they are super fun. You just can swing too hard or they'll just bounce off. I got mine for $7.99 at Harbor Freight Tools.

I don't know - but if you have fish - they love to eat them. I like to catch them and put them in the aquarium. I have some pretty small tetras but they will eat a mosquito hawk in one bite, with the legs and wings sticking out of their mouths as they swim around. Then their buddies will try and steal it by grabbing on to the legs.

I meant the mosquito hawk, more commonly called the Crane fly.

Didn't you post the same question a week or so ago? If not, someone else did. This is a dragon fly (mosquito hawk)

and this is a crane fly (vegitarian).

re: mosquito hawks

sounds like you have a light right outside of your door...either turn it off or put in a bug bulb...

if they are in your garage, just spray the place down with malathion every few weeks or so to kill all of the insects hanging around...

Crane Flies don't. Dragon flies do. They are sometimes both referred to as Mosquito hawks.

Keep mosquito hawk hawks in your house to handle the mosquito hawks.
