2013 F150 Lariat 4x4 for just under 40K
and had a truck worth $30k when he got it home.
If you look on autotrader and carguru type sites you can find a whole lot of truck for $25-30k.2013s and 2014s low mileage.

last year I bought a 2012 lariat with navigation and 36k miles for 27 plus ttl. Very nice truck and I have zero issues so far.

I just bought a brand new 2014 F150 XLT with Leather and HIDs (2wd however) for $29k (MSRP was 45k). I'm sure you could find a dealer really wanting to offload their remaining inventory and get an even better deal.

Look at the dealerships in Houston...

I'll believe you about the 29k, but I don't believe that a 2wd xlt stickers anywhere near 45K

I was just quoted a 2014 F-150 MSRP $50,270 with rebates $41,270.

I replied to you and told you the other day

I bought a king ranch in 2013 for 43

They can do better, I wouldn't pay more than 39 for a 2014 lariat

Dealer markup is probably around 5K, and then you add in all the rebates. Now you may have to trade in and finance thru ford to qualify for all rebates though.

I bought it here in BR by getting them to basically price match a Houston dealer

The problem could be the slow delivery of 2015 stock. They don't want to completely deal all of their 2014s until the flow of 2015s is steadier

A 2014 XLT, can basically be a 2013 Lariat with the top of the line packages. You can get leather in them now. I did see a 2014 XLT 4x4 with leather for $43k but it had $8500 off MSRP painted across the entire windshield.

Maybe they're taking a page out of Dodge's book and listing it at an inflated MSRP and then dropping incentives to make people feel they are getting a better deal than they are.

5 years ago I paid 26 out the door for a new Tundra double cab 5.6L. They had an 5k rebate at the time which helped out a good bit. Today If I were shopping would choose between the Tundra again, F150 or the new Chevy Colorado.

Check out Mac Haik in Houston. They are a good tool for determining market price if nothing else.

I know that ford raised the MSRP quite a bit between 2013 and 2014 so that the jump to 2015 wouldn't look as bad.

My truck stickered for 53,770, but there are 2014 lariats that sticker for that much, and my truck had pretty much everything.

Eta: are you sure the sticker on the 2014 you looked at is only 50? There may be some discounts above the stickers bottom line that these other websites like to advertise as discounts.

That is what the MSRP is listed as. I just checked again and realized it is a V6.

That's the ecoboost engine, I have the same.

That's a $1095 upcharge so you may want to look for V8s if you want to save a little more.

Is that engine strong?

That's a whole nother thread but it is marketed as an efficient workhorse. It has more HP, torque and towing capacity than the V8 5.0, but many old school folks have to have the 2 cylinders.

If its strong and burns less gas, I want it.

If you want fuel efficiency for around town driving, buy the eco. If you want more fuel efficiency while pulling and doing so often buy the V8 or a diesel.

I got the 5.0 cause less moving parts should mean longer life out of the engine and I didn't like the way the Ecoboost engine sounded.
