Overnight gulf trip scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Seas look like they'll be 3' with 4-5 seconds dominant period and chance of thunderstorms the whole time. I've never done an overnight in the gulf so I'm a little worried I'll be puking the whole time.

Would you fish?

I don't get sea sick but I wouldn't want to be out in the Gulf during continuous thunderstorms. That's how people end up in Davy Jones Locker

I cancelled my snapper trip for Thursday-Saturday. Thunderstorms predicated everyday plus 3-5 foot seas; I'll pass.

me and my crew just canceled out Catholic High Fishing rodeo plans. Last year was major weather event and we just aren't willing to endure that again this year.

Nope, I'll only go on an overnighter with light and variable. You don't think you get seasick until you're constantly being rocked on some rollers. Jumping into the gulf at night is sketchy to say the least, but that's the only way to get rid of the headache and vomiting. I've learned my lesson the hard way.

Isn't that dangerous given the all ready high seas?

Yeah, I wouldn't advise it.

Overall no i would not.

I have some offshore forecast through work. Do you know what blocks would you be fishing?

This is EC 330 in roughly 270' water. I assume you will be in or around this depth. Free or not i wouldnt go

depends

if it's a free trip paid for by a company that you may not get to reschedule then I would fish it in a decent size boat

if you are footing the bill there's no way I'd pay to fish in that shite

I think its an early 80's Hatteras -- 53 footer. Checking on the block now. All I know at this point is its roughly 90 miles out. Cost is the price of gas but most of the guys are spearing so it doesn't seem like they mind the rain. I don't dive so I'd be feeling the wave the whole time.

You can go and may catch fish, however it won't be fun fishing. I prefer to go offshore when it's fun not when I am getting the hell kicked out of me. 4-5' seas in almost any fishing boat isn't fun.

As the forecast sits today, it wont matter what size boat you are in, the weather is going to suck and it is going to be rough as hell!

Thanks y'all. I was just trying to decide if the snapper would taste as good coming up as it did going down. I think I may just stick to House of Cards marathon and take-out.

Same. We fought 4's last year rodeo. Looking like it'll be same or worse this year

Good call, being miserable and possibly in danger just isn't worth it

Not worth it. Reschedule. They'll be plenty of fish to limit out in state waters when the weather clears.
