This is the main reason Grafton resigned from the LSP commission. The commission is given oversight over LSP and Edmundson was basically blocking them at every turn.

Also funny that right before this story broke the New Roads PD asked for the LSP to come in and investigate one of theirs for potential payroll fraud and after this story broke LSP declined to investigate because of Marci Gras

shite, I didnt know about this.
I do know that a Trooper hit and killed a guy on US90 this week. Many people said speeds were in excess of 80MPH.

My ex's Daddy was way up in the LSP and rolled up to Riverside Towing twice for me in one month to get my ride out of there after they illegally towed my shite, so for the record I am cool with the LSP and all La law enforcement for the most part.
The people of Louisiana don't realize how good they have it as far as laxed law enforcement goes. Best in the south and fairest court system imo.
But it is still crooked as a MF dogs leg. Just looking back at the ten years I lived in La I saw some grimey shite and I'm not talking about simple extortion or bribery, I'm talking about jacking drug dealers,(which I'm cool with btw cause frick them), and fixing crime scenses in plain view.Cops jobs are not easy and they get paid shite, but damn if a lot of jurisdictions in the state don't need to be reigned in.

Doesn't he have enough time for pretty much 100% retirement ? Then he goes out and gets another gig at at least the same salary ?
I agree he's done good. I've had dealings with him and he was a real help in some safety programs I was in charge of.
But I always thought he had a shady side. And he's got some skeletons in his closets.
I just have a feeling if a full blown investigation ensues, a lot of shite will come out that will surprise people and he could be in serious trouble. I hope not but I'm not so sure.
We'll see.

Governor will ask for his retirement or will remove him.
Long time Troop B Commander Carl Saizan (sp) is the likely successor.
I think it's time for a change. From what I have seen, most chiefs get compromised by politics after 3-4 years in office. They owe too many favors, unfairly discipline people, and are too timid with the press by then.
Edmonson had a lottery winner worthy career. From the laid out, perk heavy assignments he held as a rank and file trooper,the promotions and power, to the salary and endless perks, he has had it all as a "cop".
I hope he moves on an enjoys the rest of his life. But it is time for a change.

I think (but might be wrong) that he is also Deputy Secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety.
