Why is it outdoorsmen/women are assumed to be idiots?

Ventured to the poliboard and chimed in on the 2012 coastal master plan and no matter what if you mention fisherman talking about something they always write it off as a bunch of idiots talking with no clue. Guess they don't realize that a lot of those who frequent the outdoors are educated and successful men and women a lot moreso than most of them

It's because they really aren't anywhere near as smart as they would like for you to believe and dismiss anything an outdoorsman says as stupid because they can't come up with anything intelligent to say

I've definitely seen him post here. That image in the op of that thread is scary.

I was going to say I don't really think of outdoorsmen as stupid.. but I do kind of think of them as rednecks.. because most rednecks ARE outdoorsmen.
