Good ole days

it was damn sure better than 3 and 30....

Funny how during those 3/30 days, we would see way more ducks than any other years.

I wouldn't mind going back to 3/30 for a year to two.
Build up the population and reduce the duck dynasty crowd.
It would suck initially, but be better in the long run

My dad explained the point system years ago to me. you had to be selective on what you shot for sure. he hunted the now maurepas swamp wma off blind river in its glory days of nothing but greenheads and grays. it sure would thin the hunting crowd if they went to 3/30

Technically you had to add your points in the order they were shot from what I remember, but we never went by that. Even in front of wardens, we would count em out to our advantage. 9 pintails and a mallard hen, yup I'm legal!

Instagram pics with black faces and smiling duck faces?
Worth all the points.

Can someone explain the face painting thing? I swear I saw a guy in Hopedale during teal season with stripes painted on his dog.

I have a friend that used to do that to his yellow lab before DD came out...we sure loved making fun of him

yea buddy ... I was a teal and grey duck shooting mofo. Pass on the cans and pintails .... I heard rumours that some people would actually stomp a can or hen

3 duck limit. 30 day season. They did that when duck numbers were way down in the 80's (?). Sure ran a lot of people out of the sport.

I've used a burnt cork on sunny days when I am wearing whites in a rag spread.
Im not sure why people do all the crazy lines and shite.

Loved it. 10 ducks/man if you did it right. Only 100 point duck was a Canvasback and we never saw them south of Houma. Teal and Greys took a beating

Monkey see - monkey do. same with the bushy beard bullshite.
Was at a restaurant one night and some bone-collecting chick walks in, full matching camo with pink accents and fuggin face paint. I'd bet my full net worth she had been sitting in a GD box stand overlooking a feeder and rye grass patch.

quote:Yep, I hunted a roost in the early 90's and it was a sight to behold at sundown. Private land but no one gaf since 3 ducks "ain't worth it".
