I don't really use CR for very much. I'm more JD Power/Autoweek.

Resale value is super-strong with Ford and GM and this last last gen of Tundra's is doing well. As a % of true, out the door selling cost, I would think Ford and GM are still on top.
Keep in mind, Toyota's will sell much closer to sticker than Ford or GM.

I'm trying to decide on a new truck too. I had a 2011 F150 Lariat Limited that I liked but had a few annoying problems. I'm looking at the Tundra, and Ram 1500. I love the Raptors but I don't know if I want another Ford. I don't have anything against GM but I'm not a fan of their designs.

Raptors are cool, but they love gasoline like a fat kid loves Twinkies.

Tundra's are solid and I'm not quite sold on Rams yet.

If I was going to buy a truck with the big gas motor, I'd stay with GM. It is bulletproof.

Yep. GM's got the most robust engine without doubt.

Pops brought home a 2013 4x4 half ton chevrolet about a week ago. It looks like a very well put together rig, and I love that they're sticking with the proven pushrod motors.

Didn't GM redesign all of their engines with the '14 model update?

They're direct injection, which I am definitely not crazy about.

We're going to start seeing diesel-type problems with gassers. Do not want.

Get a 2014 Ram 1500 with the diesel motor and let us know how it is.

I'm sure the new ram diesel will be great for towing, but I want something that will pin me to the seat when I floor it. My last truck had the Ford 6.2.

Ah, the 5.7 is more than capable of that. 5.7 + 8 speed + 3.55 or 3.92 rear gears = sunk in your seat.

..but GM's 6.2 is better if that's mainly what you're looking for

Between those two, it really comes down to the looks and interior, which GMC wins on. Tundra has more back seat room, but I find that the driving position is very awkward for me and it seemed like the steering wheel wasnt centered up to the seat when I drove one.

2014 GMC SLT interior is just

That is a diverse list. Let me guess, in terms of overall quality and ownership experience:

Excellent, Fair, Good, Excellent, Poor, Excellent.

(If the Tundra was 2nd gen, may downgrade)

It was actually Excellent, Fair, Excellent, Excellent, Poor, Excellent.

Im Looking at the Sierra SLT and the Limited Tundra. The SLT interior is amazing. I just rather the feeling the tundra has as far as power.

I actually like the subtle update to the Tundra...think it looks better than pre-2013, they have good resale, and a decent driveline...but the interiors are terrible.

I agree. They really can't hold a candle to the 2014 GMC SLTs

Maybe you drove one with lower gears, and the Tundra with higher gearing

not sure....I just know when I stepped on the gas in the tundra it took off. In the GMC, there was a slight lag. My wife drives a yukon and its the same way. Its not something terrible but I just dont care for it

They don't allow you to drive them like a bat out of hell to keep you from tearing them apart. It sucks, but that's what there is these days. It also cuts down right before shifts to smooth it out. It's amazing what you can do when your right foot doesn't actually control what the butterfly is doing.

I know a guy with a 2013 that's been reprogrammed with all the torque management and traction control deactivated and it's absolutely ignorant how much power it has.

I guess so.

I would love a Tundra and always said my next truck would be a Tundra but the GMC seems to have so much more extras for the same price as you will pay for a Tundra.
