I've been looking around for and old H&R/NE firearms type crack barrel. Can't find one anywhere other than online. I am about to resort to looking in pawn shops for one. Any insight on somewhere in the Baton Rouge area that may have one??

Go to Cabelas or Jims. They have used models.

I forgot all about Cabela's having used guns. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

I've been looking for a Long Tom 12ga with a 38" barrel for years. My dad used to have one. Squirrel killing machine. They are very hard to find.

I remember when you could find those ole crack barrels just about anywhere from hardware stores to Wal-Mart for around 80.00. Granted that was also when you could buy 100 round bricks of .22 for about 2 buck also.

you looking for a double barrel or single shot?....

I have had good luck with pawn shops and made some of the best finds in small town single shop type locales.

I still have my single barrel HR topper 20Ga my dad gave me for my 10th birthday. Killed a many of doves and tree rats with that thing.

Just a single shot.
if it is a 12 ga that you are looking for, be warned...it will kick like a damn mule...

That's no lie.
I am looking for a 20ga. Had one when I was a kid, but never found it after we moved. I guess it got lost in the shuffle. Been wanting another one for a few years, but got caught up buying other guns instead. Since my daughter will be making the jump in a couple of years I would like to get another one. Our land doesn't have a shot over 75yds, and It can be used in primitive gun season, or just about any other season.

man... My first shotgun was an old NE single action from wal mart that kicked harder than a rented mule, wish i could find that thing. didn't know they were out of business.

Mine as well. Still have it and one of my favorites other than my pops 30-30 gold trigger I got.
Great first guns because you learn to make shots count and they can take a ton of abuse.

I have one that was manufactured in the 60s. I can never believe how tight the spread is from 30-50 yards with birdshot. From 30 it puts everything into a pie plate, or smaller. I love it, but I'd sell it for the right price, there are some other guns I would like to buy.
I'll look in a minute and see who it was made by.
Edit: It's a 20g Stevens Model 94C. I'd post pictures but I can't seem to sign into my photobucket account.
Also, did some more digging because I couldn't remember the manufacture date. It was made pre-1960 because the Chicopee mill was shut down in 1960. I think it's 1957.
