Got a question that came up the other day. If you run a gun serial number and it comes back stolen. Say it was done for a friend, that calls you, and is thinking about purchasing a gun and wants to know if the gun is stolen. Does the office then expect for you to bring the gun into the station?

Do they not serve alcohol there for on premise consumption? I am pretty sure that they do.

No. But I have seen people drinking a cold beer with their sammichs. I just assumed that because of that whole foods sold alcohol for on premise consumption.

No idea if there is a bar. I am guessing not. The law states that one cannot open carry where alcohol is sold for consumption. So even if they do beer samplings or wine tasting, you should be fine.

If they sell alcohol then they do not have to post it. I was under the impression that they did not sell alcohol for consumption.

The same principle that you cannot open carry at an Outback or Chilis because of the sale of alcohol.

I always thought their primary source of income had to be alcohol for this to apply.

Or is that just for concealed carry?

From what I've read, open carry is not allowed in businesses serving alcohol, but concealed carry is.

They changed the law to allow concealed carry at restaurants that serve alcohol. You just can't go into the bar area which is usually designated by a step up or down, or a change in flooring.

From LSP website - "•Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises."

The "portion" would be the bar area. Minors are also not allowed to sit at the bar.
