It varies by company. I've worked in some that you can check them into the guard shack. Some allow it in a parking lot that is outside the gates. Some no where on company property no matter what.

I would be screwed. I have enough shells in my doors to make a duck or spec hunt. I would never drive my truck over the mexican border.

Forgot about that, always keep rain gear. Plus a very light sleeping bag in a small backpack, with water bottle and a few powerbars.

My truck is new so I haven't had time to accumulate crap in it yet.

Tool box, pneumatic jack, some tools, a come along, a tarp, a flashlight, a bayonet, and a small youth league 26 inch aluminum bat (the solid old kind), a 5 gal gas can, an 11 gal air tank with fittings of all sorts, a few extra lug nuts, a lighter, and a couple,of 12 ga shotgun shells.

Being as I was told nothing in a truck tool box was covered, then just the Colt in the cab. The rest is losable to a point.
ETA, if it was broken into during the night I would be pissed about the Ray-Bans.

Much older than that. Bersa 85 .380 (13 rd mag). Was once my backup weapon 20+ years ago. It's been so abused over the years that I wouldn't be heartbroken if it got stolen. (though it's still totally reliable).

I keep most of my tools in my truck toolbox because I always need them at one of the camps or my parents house. I'm sure it's s couple grand. Plus s gun and iPod.
