So I noticed this weed in my yard, it just looks like really thick dark green grass. Not sure what to do about it, seems to spread really quickly

St. Aug is at the top of this pic, the weed is the rest

Son of a bitch. I got that everywhere in one section that got chopped up while I was adding my patio.

Can I round up the entire area and cover it in dirt and will my healthy grass spread to take it over?

fertilome will kill it, but you will be fighting it all year

I've been fighting it in my front yard since I've had my house

have to spray it at least 3 or 4 times a year and you have to be careful because fertilome will stress st aug

I needa bring a pic of my grass to the OB experts. I don't even know what I have . I just take care of it the best I can and it looks pretty damn good...other than this spot.

I've had good results by pulling it. of course, if there's too much, then it's too much sugar for a dime.

I posted a lawn thread recently - half of my back yard is full of that. I'm starting to like it. It's thick, very green, and doesn't grow high at all. And it's full of tiny white flowers. I give up on having real grass - I just want a full lawn of Va. buttonweed.

I knew what picture I would see before I even opened thread. I'm constantly pulling it out of my mom's yard. Staying on top of it makes it a whole lot easier.

Seriously though, weed free zone works good. I used the liquid spray this year and it sucked, so make sure you buy the granules and spread them. The spray didn't even put a dent into the clover and it usually is gone in a couple days.

Was curious, every pic I see of Virginia button weed has white flowers, I don't see any flowers with this

I started pulling it up, now I just have dirt where it was, hopefully the at Sug fills in, and not this

Thinking about spraying roundup and just getting sod to cover it once it's dead and dug up

Where can I get like 5 pieces of sod?

Local nursery should carry sod. Or just dig up a couple runners and plant that in place.

I'm with the guys who just want green something. I have some green fungus in one part of my yard it's great. It never grows and looks like turf. I wish my whole yard was like this.
