For locating I love my Lynch's Fool Proof box call and Primo's Aluma Slate call. If I already hear one gobbling I usually turn to my Kenny Morgan friction wood or my Andy Kaiser slate call. Still can't find a diaphragm call that I can work consistently. Any suggestions on your favorite mouth call.

Pittman's exciter. I buy 2-3 at the start of each season. It's almost the only call I use anymore....that and an old homemade wingbone we made years back.

I have to admit I thought this reply was a joke until I googled it. I'll have to try that call out. I hope it's easier to use than the Woodhaven Scott Ellis Signature series.

i would get about 10 different ones and just mess around until you find something you like. also, record yourself outside and use that to judge, it will sound a lot different than just listening to yourself call

I've been using a Osage Orange double slate made by a friend in Tennessee for several years now. I named him Ol' Yeller since the wood is gold in color. It's recorded one Royal Slam and called up many more for myself and others.

People like different mouth calls just have to keep buying them until you find one you like. I don't care for woodheaven mouth calls either. I think will you like gooserbats calls. If you ever want a new pot call look up b and c custom calls. Brad Roberts makes the best sounding poplar glass call I have ever played and I have several custom pots.

Will do. I usually buy at least one custom call every year. Last year I bought a trumpet call but I just don't put in the time on it. Going to practice a lot more this year. It sounds as good as my diaphragm. Will definitely check out B&C calls. Is there a specific name for the call you're referencing or just poplar glass call? Nevermind, found it.
