Thanks for all info. Had no idea that there would still be snow on the ground....thought I could manage the trip in tennis shoes, guess I better rethink that. I hate the buy a new pair of hiking boots that are not broken in...oh well, I guess I will. E sporting blistered feet. Y'all think...

Have had pretty good luck with 7 mm 08 managed recoil but it is a pain taking 2 rifles when a longer shot may be presented for Dad. Have considered switching to regular 7-08 cartridges which would eliminate that second rifle Hunting with myself a 5 & 7 yr old, requires a lot of gear...
