Top choice

I've used this before and there is nothing better.

It's expensive but you only need it once. It will wipe a mound out in just a couple of days (if that long).

The problem with granules, it can be harmful to pets. I use Bifen It liquid mixed in a 15 gal. sprayer. I do a whole yard spray. It takes care of termites, red ants, spiders and mosquitoes.

I've heard that uncooked grits are effective.

Another trick if you have multiple colonies is scoop a shovelful from each colony and move it to the other. Apparently that starts a war.

Talstar will cause your pets to have seizures, happened to one of my Dachsunds last year, I used the granules and watered it in good just a heads up.

I keep my dog off the lawn for a few days when I use Talstart PL or Talstar Xtra.
I also buy a bag and put it down right before a decent rain so it activates it.
The Talstart Xtra works faster than the PL.
I can see the crickets, worms, and lizards squirm around like it is burning them up minutes after I put it down.

I buy mine from these guys online

Locally the only business I have seen Talstar at is Peststop on Oneal lane.
They only carry the PL not the Xtra.

Broadcast TalStar and just throw some Orthene on piles if I see one pop up.

Is there a particular time of year when you put it out? The ants love my yard, and apparently only my yard, so much so that I have at least 5 huge mounds throughout the yard. I'd like to kill those SOB's but every time I use the stuff from HD it just kills the mound and they rebuild somewhere else.
