As long as it's frozen it'll be fine, but freezing and thawing numerous times will hurt the quality of the meat

It hasn't been frozen yet... Just on ice. So I should be ok to keep like it is until Monday?

I got the record on this one I bet.

Almost a month in trash bags on ice in ice chest.

Best most tender venison anybody ever put in their mouths.

Beef is not considered aged until it's 21 days old. All choice steaks served in restaurants are aged. Wet aged meat, which is meat vacuum sealed and refrigerated, can be aged upwards of 60 days. Best steak I've ever eaten was a filet from a loin I let age for 82 days. As long as you keep the meat refrigerated between 33-36 degrees or on ice you will be fine.

all true, to me the only bad thing about leaving venison covered in ice is that it loses the deer flavor, which is why i hunt it in the first place.

I've kept it on ice for up to 2 weeks. Just make sure you keep the water drained off.

I normally let mine age and bleed for 5-7 days on ice and it turns out great.

Always leave mine on ice at least a week but have gone longer.

If the eskimos can eat a wooly mammoth that appears from under the ice, Ill take my chances with two week on ice deer meat.

I ice mine as well with the plug open to drain for 5-7 days. My previous post was in regards to some people on here's reaction to that.
