What is the best WEED AND GRASS killer I can buy or mix?

I need something that is strong and works on BOTH weeds and grasses. I heard of 24d, glyphosate, Round-up, Rodeo, etc. What is the best mixture (or pre-mixed) of stuff that I can buy that will kill both GRASS AND WEEDS and that will last at least several months. Bought some Round-up "Extended Control" at Lowe's and it was junk! Label says lasts 4 months and the weeds were already growing back after a month. Also, didn't work on a few grass-type weeds.

There is a product named Sahara. Be careful where you use it as it can cause soil erosion. It is a soil sterilizer and will kill all living plants/grasses/weeds.

Gas or diesel has always worked well for me (sometimes accidentally). I have also had some strong muriatic acid spill on grass, and it didn't come back for a year

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup. It is the same in many of the off brands as well. I usually buy the off brand, but look for the active ingredient label and match up the percentage to the Roundup you were looking to use.
I usually buy the concentrate and mix double the recommended dosage. If one is good, two is better, right?
That will usually kill it down to bare dirt. Gas/diesel is cheaper, but your choice in the type/strength of herbicide you use should also consider what you will do with the land after (growing crops or pouring cement for example).

Yup, that's what I meant. if you are growing something after, glyphosate is what I would choose. Pouring cement, meh.
Of course, he would always buy some black visqueen, cover the area, put a brick on each corner, wait a few weeks, voila, same outcome.

Glyphosate has no soil activity. Contact only. If it's mixed with a pre emerge herbicide, it usually has to be activated by rainfall.

Buy 2.5 gallons of killzall, mix in one container of 24d.
Read the directions in the killzall and it tells you how to make a light oil emulsion with the killzall.
Do that, mix according to directions, then spray that, then reapply two weeks later.
You're done after that for a long while.

Where or how can you get glyphosate? I need to kill a mixture of stuff on my property that is a river bank.

Tractor Supply, garden centers, Amazon.
Don't waste your money on the Roundup Brand, especially not the "ready to spray" jug. Glyphosate is the active ingredient and you can buy generic.

Go to your nearest farm supply or co-op. I picked up a 2.5 gallon of Cornerstone (generic Round-Up) the other day for $35. This will last me at least 2-3 years and I spray around my house as well as food plots and trails. Mix 2 oz per gallon of water and you are good to go. If you want a little extra kick add some 24d, but be careful because it drifts like crazy and will take out the neighbor's garden as well as his cotton field. Lol.

The best thing you can do is to add a surfactant (a heavy squeeze of dawn will work too) to the sprayer.
Mixing with 2-4D (broadleaf), or triclopyr (for poison ivy, vines, woody weeds)

Mix roundup or similar knock off with 2-4-D, a little diesel and some dawn soap. Will kill any plant you want.

Imazapyr is one of the ingredients in sahara that you can buy at local feed stores etc. Look for something called total vegetative control (T.V.C)
It will kill everything and kill it for a while. It does have soil activity so be careful around trees.
