What caliber is your AR and why did you choose that one?

Mine are all 5.56 chambered. I have an M1A for sending 7.62 as fast as I want my wallet to cry. I've never had a personal use to expand my caliber stock beyond what it already is.

Started out with 5.56, mainly because it's just what is most "common". Killed 2 deer with it, and decided I liked hunting with the platform. Because I already had an AR15 lower, I stepped to a 6.5 Grendel upper in order to keep hunting deer with it. Then bought a lower to dedicate to the Grendel.

In the next ammo crisis you'll be wishing you hadn't spent all that $ on a rare caliber and instead invested in more 556/223, 308 and 9mm.

5.56
6.5 Grendel
.308 Win

I'm looking at new AR-15 uppers. Maybe .223 wylde maybe .224 valkyrie. I'm not sure. Heck maybe another 5.56. I have no idea but I know I want something.

Ammo storage has become a problem. I have 2 5 gallon buckets full of new boxes that are just hanging out in one of my spare rooms.

ETA--I really want a Seekins SBR-8 but I don't feel like waiting on another Form 4.

Have one in several calibers
300 blk gets the most use as a hog gun. My new 6.5 creedmoor needs some attention as on its first outing it fired off a round out of battery and blew the mag out the well into pieces. Scared the shite out of me.
Also have a few in traditional 556/223

It's not a big deal now, but eventually ammo is going to be hard to come by. Having standardized ammo that will feed all your's, your family's and friend's weapons will be important. We're still a quarter century (or longer) from that, but it will come. When i buy ammo, I always think, I'm not just buying this for me, but for my kids and grandkids, they may not have an opportunity to buy it.

How do you like it? Next on my list is an M1A Scout I think.

Before my boating accident, I had a 5.56 and 6.5 Grendel. Both are tack drivers relative to my shooting ability and the price I paid for them. 5.56 for obvious reasons, 6.5 Grendel for mo powa. Plus, I started with a 5.56 upper and grendel upper to interchange, and waited for a lower at a price I couldn't pass up. Eventually ending up with two separate guns.

100%. That day's coming. I'm 57 and i do think it will be in my lifetime.

Way too many (off the record) weapons to ever round up, but they can make ammo very hard to get. That will be how they institute gun control.

As long as you stay off the radar, you'll probably be safe to keep weapons at home, but if you ever get on a "list" they're gonna be on your arse. There'll be programs to rat out your friends, family and neighbors.

I have a .22 Lr, 223/5.56 and a 350 legend. The 350 occasionally comes out of the safe for a deer hunt.
The other 2 are just used to play around.
