Loved the grendel so much I built up a howa 1500 mini. The 6mm arc looks promising but was too close to the 6.5 to change. If more options of 6mm arc are getting to stores I may reconsider and rebarrel.

6.8 spc , basically just didn’t want a 223 for hunting .
I use it mainly as my woods gun.
Have killed a deer out to 240 with it though.

I have a buddy that put an franlkin bi nary trigger on a 9mm AR which is a no no. He had a round fire out of battery and was shooting it left handed. Luckily he was wearing glasses. Could have damaged his eye permanently.
Some 9mm AR bolts have hammer follow and if you don’t time the trigger right it will fire out of battery.

Got them before the Russian ammo ban, which cost the same as 9mm, so it was a no-brainer then. Even now, it still runs about the same as 223/556, and gives you a different caliber to sling.

Same, 6.8 spc, it’s been an outstanding hunting round for me and extremely accurate.

I have a 223wylde heavy barrel 1/8 twist that shoots heavy’s good. I have killed several deer with 64gr fusions.
I wanted a lil more arse and lighter weight rifle so I got a 6.8 spc because at the time it and the 6.5 Grendel were about the closest to a “deer rifle” caliber in a ar15 frame lower and the 6.8 was more shelf available for ammo.
Based on ammo trends lately and some of the newer lightweight ar10 lowers I would probably go to ar-10 in 6.5creedmore.
I think I need to build another gun!!
