Oh, and divided we fall on hunting guys. Anti-hunting groups love to see hunters battle each other.

I could go on a rant about my dislike of certain other types of hunting but why give the ammo to our opponents?

They keep their dogs off my property, won't be a battle.

What force are you with? Thanks for your civil service

I hope it stays in that big metal building with flat tires. Those things belong overseas.

I don't run deer dogs but I've always seen and killed more deer during that part of the season. Dogs make deer get up and move, even if it isn't the ones they are chasing. In the end it's just a deer and I'd put money on the fact that no one on this board needs deer meat to survive. So, get over yourselves.

I've hunted over some good packs of dogs in my life. Had some good times and killed some good deer. There are still people up in north Washington Parish who run once a year and that fills their freezers for the rest of the year. When I was a kid though, it was different. We never had CBs or mud trucks to tear up land with.

At our place in Alabama, you can see dogs towards the end of January that have been left out in the woods through the whole season. They look so shitty you almost feel like you'd be doing them a favor by shooting them. Seeing stuff like that has turned me off of dog hunting completely. I know plenty people who still do it the right way - the old way - and do not lease from Weyerhaeuser. I'd feel bad for them if they lost that tradition, but they don't have to worry about it (yet). That being said, the modern day idea of dog hunting makes hunters as a whole look bad. Not to mention, it's Weyerhaeuser's land, so it doesn't make much of a difference what anybody thinks about it.

there were 2 guys that own 50acres next to my hunting lease they let there dogs loose every season and they run deer on our property. this stopped last year when the dogs vanished while running on another clubs land. they are bordered on 3 sides by 1000acre+ clubs that do not dog hunt.

They have way to many. They are trying to sell like 20,000 of them in Afghanistan to our allies because it will cost 50k each to ship them back.

They are mainly for disaster relief but i really dont see much use for them even for that.

Surprised they still allowed it. Most TIMO's and Reit's eliminated a long time ago.

Hancock wanted me to come work for them. Looking back, it would've been a good decision. Only thing that stopped me was having to move to stank arse north LA

You guys must be new to hunting or younger than I thought. If this had happened in the 80s the dog runners would have burned their mills down. They will not take this lightly I assure you.

Also dog runners are not just a bunch of drunk rednecks shooting up the country. I know plenty that are very well off and educated.

And for the record I could care less either way but I do hate to see a southern tradition end. If you have never chased dogs then you haven't lived!

Exactly, I love still hunting, but once dog season opens, we make a few trips to our club in Oil City. Those guys do it the right way. Several years ago we switched to beagles instead of walkers and put tracking collars on all of them. And if we are running close to a property line, we line the hell out of that side and make damn sure our dogs don't cross.
