5 YF out of Venice on Thursday.
2 over 100, 90, 85, and 60. Hooked up 8, lost two early and one under the boat.
Unfortunately, I got the ones over 100, and couldn't finish one. Kicked my out of shape arse. Lol
Left Venice Thurs night and met my dad at the camp in Four Point. Fished Fri afternoon inside w no luck, then ran out to the island Sat morning. West wind sucked big time and we managed 17 trout with plenty of throwbacks.

Drove 2 hours down to Point a la Hache with the yaks. Did some research via satellite images prior, but none of that worked out. Didn't get to park where we wanted, so had to park at marina at the end of 39 and paddle wayyyyy too far to get to where we wanted to fish. I only caught one 26" red, the other two guys caught one 18" red each and a flounder. Then when we decided to head back, the canal we thought would lead us back quickly was closed off, had to paddle way the frick around the marsh for 2 hours without stopping because one of the guys had to be back by 4. I've never been that miserable in a kayak. At an hour and 30 into our run back to the marina, I was pretty sure I was going to sell my yaks and give up this hobby.

Yea, who would figure that they would completely shut down after everyone smoked them 3 days before. 
My dad and crew smoked the redfish though on Friday morning, was just too pissed off after Thursday night to go out Sat.

Yeah, but he had my boys and they were finally done with summer baseball, so I tried to cram it all in.
Our worst year to date in a long time. Just couldn't line things up with weather, tides, and open weekends. Trout were smaller and just not concentrated, too.
I think the 4 freezes we had affected the numbers and size.
