Watch recommendation
Posted by TexasTiger34 on 11/17/14 at 3:42 pm00
Preferably something that will last, analog, doesn't look like shite and has the date.
I'd love something I could wear hunting and to the office(engineering/construction) and not look out of place but that might not be possible.
Please no Breitling, Oris, Omega, Rolex or other 4 or 5 figure watch recommendations, it's just to tell the god damn time and date. Not trying to be a baller.
I've looked into luminox, invicta, casio, citizen etc. Just wanted to hear from yall. Never owned anything other than a shitty Wenger.

Why a chronograph?
What size case? Between 40 and 45?
You want an automatic?

The wife just bought me a Tough Solar G-Shock by Casio about a week ago. I can already tell you it will be my everyday watch including hunting/fishing/outdoors.

I would say so. Not too clunky preferably.

Sure.

one like this?
or like this?
if the latter, i can't stand the look of digitals, that's why i'd prefer analog

Mine
My bad. Didn't catch the analog before I posted. I never liked digital watches much but started looking for something wear outdoors and I have enjoyed this one. That analog g-shock in your post is pretty sweet imo.

Seiko has some that I like. I would give them a look.

You should buy a Sinn 356 UTC with the bracelet, wear it on leather most of the time. Probably around $1850 or so, but automatic chronometers aren't cheap.

I went through the same thing a while back. Decided on a steinhart.
No chronograph but was only about $500 for a well made automatic watch. to dress it down, I employ NATO bands.

I wear a Luminox (no chrono) on a zulu band with a sun watchband compass almost every day.
If I could spend a little more, I'd have gotten a Marathon. Same band(s)/compass though.

There's always one...
Seiko Solar Chrono. Similar to an EcoDrive as far as the power system. Lasts months without light too.

i take that back, i don't necessarily need an auto chrono after looking into it a little further

Been hearing quite a few complaints about Luminox lately, which is unfortunate because I've been wearing mine daily for 5 years and have never had an issue other than a broken rubber band this past year.

yea those are what's been somewhat steering me clear of the brand
it's tough these days too because you never know what reviews are legit and what reviews the competitor is just posting over and over
