My brother has a early to mid 2000's model 700. Same thing happened to us on the range a few years ago. Scared the hell out of me.

I think the original designer even admits there is an issue, but Remington wont fully acknowledge it. (this was before the recall i believe)

Actually he didn't and what CNBC did was cobble together a lot of documents and cherry picked the lot of them. For some reason the modern jackasses don't like proper context and it shows up on this forum. A lot. Do you people not do any background research on this stuff, especially when it's CNBC covering a gun manufacturer? Does that not raise a few flags to question if CNBC might have an angle, especially when they admit to wanting Federal oversite of firearms manufacturing from something like the CPSC? Obvious hit piece is obvious but some of you seem to need a bright neon sign to figure it out.

For those of you who bought in, full retard, to the CNBC "report", here's a few links to better educate yourselves.

Glad you posted the other side. I agree about the CNBC bias.

I've heard at least 3-4 people on this board claim very similar incidents to what happen in the video. That shouldn't just be written off because of a bias source.

And how many of those incidents were user error? That's the whole problem is that in virtually every single case it was a trigger adjusted beyond spec or improperly modified, lack of maintenance, or the loose nut behind the stock. Look at the OP, his complaint is about the 770 and posts about the 700. Those aren't even the same trigger systems to begin with. Nothing within 2 feet of the trigger my arse...

All I needed mfer is to see it happen with my own eyes in the stand, as has my hunting partner and about 5 guys in our trophy club in Mississippi. I am discussing with them in January so you can tell them you did your best to keep those kid killers out on the market hurting people.

May I ask what law school you went to? I find your grammer a little 'loose' to have gone anywhere other then Southern.
