Been down that route with my kayak.

Built a blind for it and killed some birds from it, but that's not an option due to the access at the current location. Currently I walk into and through some partially flooded cattails to get to the spot. The sled is about all I can muster to get in there and I only bring enough decoys that fit in one sled, which is somewhere around 3 dozen when it's all said and done. I carry my gun, blindbag and marsh seat.

Lol. Ok. Don't think so. How would anyone even know what part of of south dakota I'm hunting to begin with and there just aren't that many people up here...

ETA: You're the only potlicker I'm worried about.

We use those black wrought iron Shepard hooks they sell as hanging flower pot holders from lowes. Works great unless the bottom is slush. We also use them to hang hog lights over food pikes when night hunting hogs in the offseason.

One day maybe I'll get a flight up there and beat you to your spot in the morning. Would be awesome to see the look on your face when you walk through a half mile of cattails and find me sitting in your blind.

Just get some PVC and make a T. Spray paint it and angle cut the bottom end and boom you have something to hang a bag from.

Eta: you could make this break down into several pieces for easy storage

Nice. I have some foam flambeaus I use when weight and space are a concern.

A shell vest like in my avi is perfect for your situation. Holds plenty of shells and the pouch can hold necessities you may need or want to carry. Your key is going to be go light and leave nonessentials in the truck

I pack my shite via a Ron chapman pirogue, in the woods, I'd do the same where you're talking about hunting, too.

We take mildly retarded ogre with us when we have to walk a long way. He can't shoot for shite, but is really handy when it comes to carrying our shite. Poor fella is just happy to be there.
