Call Lemann's in Donaldsonville- they will for sure have or be able to find something that came on trade for you.

Their service is really good- they'll check it all out before you buy.

I bought my compact tractor off Craigslist. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

Get one with a front end loader.

I saw a JD 35 up with a loader for a really good price on one of the Facebook garage sale pages a few days ago. I think it had like 20 hours for 14k.

Will see if I can find it, but Facebook and craigslist have a bunch of them. You just have to look every 3-4 hours, which is a pain.

Eta- can't find it.

I use to sell Belarus tractors and still have 3 that been sitting since the 1980's that I loan out to the local 4H club to use. I probably can get what I paid for them today. Compacts tractors hold their value.

I was going to ask if anyone knew about him and if he's proud of his tractors. He's always got something in his yard. He's got a little Ford out there right now. I pass by there every day. I live near False River.

I bought a bush hog from him years ago. Good old guy. I don't think he's gonna screw you, but he's not ignorant of what the coin prices are. It's not being proud, just knowing what the local market will bear.

Near False River as in Ventress, Lakeland, or Torbert?

contact Terry at 225-337-2651 tell him what your looking for in a tractor. Sells used Kubota's and John Deer. Keeps quite a few on hand. Solid, very honest man.

I've heard good things about Terry's Tractors in Baton Rouge. I think he puts his stuff on craigslist too.

I finally found one last weekend. 1968 Ford 3000 Gas model. 8 speed, 2 stage clutch, real strong hydraulics. Runs like a top. For what I will use it for, and the fact that parts for these old Ford's are readily available and cheap, unlike the older John Deere'$, it's perfect for me right now. And I can work on it. ..don't know anything about diesels. Got a really heavy duty grater blade and a boom pole so far. Looking for a 4 or 5 foot set of discs, if anyone knows of one, or has one for sale.

What would define a compact tractor in terms of hp?
