ok thanks, just wanted to make sure. you work for WF right? can someone target practice w/o a license? jw bc we have a group going to the camp this weekend and only those with licenses(others didnt take hunters safety in time) will be shooting deer but just wondering if those w/o
could play around with targets or skeet

I called the LDWF myself this past season with the same question and got the answer that it is OK for an unlicensed person to be in the blind so long as they do not have a gun.

So the info you have received by the other posters is spot on.

I hunt in Ms and I was told that they couldn't be with you. Anyone know for sure?

I called LDWF enforcement about frogging. Only the person catching needs the license, regardless of how many are in the boat.

I know that's a little diffferent, but the reasoning should hold suit.

That would make sense, but in other cases of shooting ranges say such as tallow creek, you dont need a license. What you said is just a good loop hole for them to make money.

Actually they can have a firearm, as long as they have a license and the person they are with is a licensed hunter who has taken the class.

Here is the wording direct from the Regulations.

• EXCEPT a person who has not completed a hunter education course may be issued a license with the restriction that
they are accompanied by, and under the direct supervision of a person 18 years of age or older who has a valid hunting
license or proof of successful completion of a hunter education course.
