Just curious to see what everyone plants & their reasoning behind their choice (yield, heat/disease tolerance, flavor, determinate/interminate)

I, in S Louisiana, usually go with Celebrity, Creole, &/or Better Boy. I go with these because that's what my Grandparents & Parents always planted, hold up pretty well to the heat & disease, & they taste good. This year I'm thinking of doing some Cherokee Purple-just because & trying Romas again-never had much luck.

Roma-Cooking, my extremely Italian friend swears by them. If I grow enough, he comes cook at my house.

Sweet 100- my wife and daughter love them

Big Beef-Never done it before wanted to try something new. Supposed to be tasty.

Celebrity and Better Boy- Always have had good results and LSU told me too.

Celebrity and Amelia because they are some of the best producing varieties out there.

Brandywine and Cherokee purple because they are some of the best tasting out there.

Everything else is added in for variety.

Better boys, Roma's, and Creole.

Hybrids. Cause it's easier.

I cook with Roma's and Creoles, and I like them in salads. I like slicing better boys for sandwiches. I also like sprinkling some Tony's Chacheres on them and eating them as a snack.

Arkansas Traveler and Bradley

They tolerate the heat and disease well and that is what I grew up eating.

Better Boy for volume, Cherokee Purple for tastiness (but small yield), and Sweet 100 for snacking.

Better Boys produce the most for us (36 this Yr).
Celebrity are the least maintenance (Zero this Yr).
Cherokee Purple taste best (4 this yr).
I usually buy a couple flats of Creoles from the river parishes.
